Timothée Chalamet channeled his character of Willy Wonka in an eye-catching ensemble as he attended the star-studded Wonka premiere in Tokyo on Monday.
The Call Me By Your Name actor, 27 – who recently took on hosting duties on Saturday Night Live for the second time – joined other cast members at the glitzy event, such as Hugh Grant.
The star dressed to impress wearing a lavender-colored, leather Prada shirt with the collar pulled up for a retro flare and also donned matching, high-waisted trousers.
Chalamet additionally slipped into a pair of sleek, white shoes that contained a thick sole on the bottom.
He accessorized the red carpet look with a silver-chained necklace that sparkled under the bright lights as well as a few silver rings on each of his hands.

The Dune actor struck a few poses on the lavishly decorated stage and at one point, flashed a small smile while holding a microphone in his hand as he addressed the crowd.
‘Paul King wrote a beautiful script here, about a young Willy Wonka who follows his dreams,’ Chalamet stated of the director, per Variety, at the premiere.

Timothée then motivationally added, ‘So, I guess like the movie, follow your dreams.’
He also took time to mingle with fans and paused for a memorable photo with Paul King also jumping in for a fun snap.
Timothée was later joined by other Wonka cast and crew for the special premiere, including Hugh Grant – who portrayed an Oompa Loompa in the anticipated musical fantasy.
The Notting Hill actor was dapper wearing a dark navy suit as well as a white dress shirt and blue tie. He slipped into a pair of black dress shoes to complete his overall ensemble.
David Heyman, a producer on the film, also joined in on the festivities donning a blue suit. He stood in between Cent Chihiro Chittiii who stunned in a glittering, gold dress and King.

The filmmaker sported a dark purple, velvet suit and colorful shirt while stopping by the premiere ahead of the movie’s release. King is known for also directing films such as Paddington and its sequel.
Alexandra Derbyshire, another producer on the project, was spotted during the big night wearing a classy, black dress. The group was also joined by Japanese singer, Sota Hanamura.
Wonka is slated to officially release in theaters next month on December 15 just in time for the holidays.
Chalamet took on the leading role of a younger Willa Wonka, and other cast members include Grant, Olivia Coleman, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson as well as Keegan-Michael Key.
The film is based off of Roald Dahl’s classic 1964 novel titled, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
The premise follows, ‘the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today,’ per an official IMDB synopsis.
During an interview with Vogue earlier this year in May, Timothée opened up about taking on the role of Wonka in the musical fantasy.
‘To work on something that will have an uncynical young audience, that was just a big joy,’ he explained to the outlet.

He added, ‘That’s why I was drawn to it. In a time and climate of intense political rhetoric, when there’s so much bad news all the time, this is hopefully going to be a piece of chocolate.’
The Little Women star also explained that his portrayal of Wonka would not be ‘cynical.’
‘This is a Willy that’s full of joy and hope and desire to become the greatest chocolatier,’ the star stated.
